The Miner Profession is part of the profession system added in Point Release 7. It is designed to take you through the various stages of using the Mining skill from being brand new to the skill to becoming a grandmaster*.
Skills Required
In order to progress through the Miner profession you will require the following skills:
The Quest Line
There are 5 stages to the profession line Introduction, apprentice, Journeyman, Master and Grandmaster. Although if you already have a minimum of 30 skill in required skills you can skip the introduction quest. *(please note that as of Point Release 7 only the introduction & apprentice stages are available for this skill).
Learn to Mine (Introduction)
The following quest can be skipped if you already have 30 in the Mining Skill.
- Activate the profession via the professions UI.
- Speak to an NPC Blacksmith within any of the main towns.
- Obtain a Mining Pick from a Tinker within a town which will cost 40 .
- Speak to a Blacksmith
- Equip the Mining Pick by double clicking on it or moving it on to your character window.
- Mine 10 Stone from surrounding rocks with the Mining skill
- Speak to a Blacksmith
Rewards
Once you have completed the quest you will be rewarded with up to 30 skill in Mining
Mining Celador (Apprentice)
You must have a minimum of 30 skill to start this quest.
- Begin the quest via the Professions UI.
- Speak to a Blacksmith in any of the main towns
- Amass 500 Iron Ore from surrounding mines with the Mining skill (You can store Iron Ore in Horses or in Bank)
- Speak to a Blacksmith
Rewards
When you complete the quest you will receive a Light Mining Pick.
Mining Celador: (Journeyman)
You must have a minimum of 50 skill to start this quest.
- Mine 200 Ore from Mount Aris Cave near Helm.
- Mine 200 Ore from Breca Mines near Valus.
- Mine 200 Ore from Bootstrap Crevice near Pyros Landing
- Mine 200 Ore from Jhalir Cave in the Oasis
Rewards
Unlocks a passive skill Brute I which increases bashing and piercing damage by 5%.
Mining Celador: Outcrop (Master)
You must have a minimum of 80 skill to start this quest.
- Mine 200 Ore from outcrops in Eastern Range Peninsula east of Helm.
- Mine 200 Ore from outcrops in Soldier's Rest north of Eldier.
- Mine 200 Ore from outcrops in Spiritwood northwest of Black Forest Outpost.
Rewards
Unlocks a passive skill Brute II which increases bashing and piercing damage by 10%..
Grandmaster
You must have a minimum of 100 skill to start this quest.
- Mine 300 Obsidian Ore
Rewards
Unlocks a passive skill Brute III which increases bashing and piercing damage by 15%.
