Animal Taming

The Tamer Profession is part of the profession system added in Point Release 7. It is designed to take you through the various stages of using the Animal Taming skills from being brand new to the skill to becoming a grandmaster*.

Skills Required[ | ]

In order to progress through the Tamer profession you will require the following skills:

The Quest Line[ | ]

There are 5 stages to the profession line Introduction, apprentice, Journeyman, Master and Grandmaster. Although if you already have a minimum of 30 skill in required skills you can skip the introduction quest. *(please note that as of Point Release 7 only the introduction & apprentice stages are available for this skill).


Learn Taming (Introduction)[ | ]

The following quest can be skipped if you already have 30 in the Inscription Skill.

  1. Activate the profession via the professions UI.
  2. Speak to an NPC Stable Master within any of the main towns.
  3. Obtain a Crook, they can be bought from woodsmiths within all major towns and will cost 20 Gold
  4. Speak to a NPC Stable Master
  5. Equip the crook by double clicking on it or dragging it on to your character window.
  6. Use your crook by pressing Q and tame a Chicken.
  7. Speak to a NPC Stable Master.
  8. Rename your chicken by right clicking it and choosing the rename option.
  9. Speak to an NPC Stable Master
  10. Say /all follow me in chat or use the command ability from your animal taming skill in your skill book.
  11. Say /all stay in chat or use the command ability from your animal taming skill in your skill book.
  12. Say /all guard me in chat or use the command ability from your animal taming skill in your skill book.
  13. say /all kill in chat and target yourself. you can also use the command ability from your animal taming skill in your skill book.
  14. Say /all stop in chat or use the the command ability from your animal taming skill in your skill book.
  15. Speak to a NPC Stable Master

Rewards[ | ]

Once you have completed the quest you will be rewarded with up to 30 skill in Animal Taming and Animal Lore

Friend or Fauna (Apprentice)[ | ]

You must have a minimum of 30 skill to start this quest.

  1. Begin the quest via the Professions UI.
  2. Speak to a NPC Stable Master in any of the main towns
  3. Tame the following creatures
  4. Speak to a NPC Stable Master

Bears, Oh My![ | ]

You must have a minimum of 50 skill to start this quest.

  1. Begin the quest via the Professions UI.
  2. Speak to a NPC Stable Master in any of the main towns
  3. Tame a crab. Crabs can be found in Eastern Range Peninsula South of Helm or Mer Beach northwest of Helm.
  4. Tame a Black Bear.
  5. Tame a Brown Bear.
  6. Tame a Giant Scorpion.
  7. Speak to a NPC Stable Master in any of the main towns

Rewards

Unlocks Journeyman Abilities Nature's Focus and Nature's Grace. Must spend ability points to learn them.

  • Nature's Focus - All pets gain 50% increase movement speed for 10 seconds.
  • Nature's Grace - All pets are immune to stun and mortal strike. (Passive)

Dire Situations[ | ]

You must have a minimum of 80 skill to start this quest.

  1. Begin the quest via the Professions UI.
  2. Speak to a NPC Stable Master in any of the main towns
  3. Tame a Black Wolf.
  4. Tame a Desert Wolf.
  5. Tame a Gray Wolf.
  6. Tame a Arctic Wolf. Found in Frozen Tundra north of Aspen.
  7. Tame a Dire Wolf.
  8. Speak to a NPC Stable Master in any of the towns

Rewards

Unlocks Master Abilities Primal Fury and Primal Rage. Must spend ability points to learn them.

  • Primal Fury - All pets take 50% less physical and magical damage for 10 seconds.
  • Primal Rage - All pets gain 50% increased damage for 10 seconds.

Grandmaster[ | ]

  1. Talk with a Stable Master
  2. Tame a Huntress
  3. Tame a Dire Bear
  4. Tame a Wyvern (9/7/2020 an Ice Wyvern will not update the quest, only a Wyvern will)
